REEL MEAL

Saturday, November 17 @ 6:00 p.m.

In 1965, Wendell Berry returned to the area where he was born– Henry County, Kentucky–and began his life of farming, writing and teaching. Look and See describes the change he has witnessed over the years as agriculture evolved from small, sustainable, local farms focused on land stewardship to larger, industrialized farms with increasing use of machines, chemicals, soil erosion and debt. The film focuses on stories of Henry County residents and the land itself. Rural Action, a non-profit organization working in southeast and east central Appalachian Ohio counties to promote social, economic, and environmental justice will present the film. They will share stories about their efforts working with agricultural producers in the region to sustainably increase acreage under production and grow demand for local products.
